18 organisations get national productivity award

Industries ministry has given “National Productivity and Quality Excellence Awaard-2015” to 18 organisations for their outstanding contribution to country’s industrial sector, reports BSS.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday handed over the award to the wining organizations in a ceremony at a hotel in Dhaka.
The ministry gave the award for third times in six categories, three companies in each category, for increasing productivity and excellence of produced goods.
The six categories are large industry, medium industry, small industry, micro industry, cottage industry and state-owned enterprises.
Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Limited, Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited and BEXIMCO Pharmaceuticals Limited won award in large category while Ethics Advanced Technology Limited, ERA InfoTech Ltd and Allplast Bangladesh Limited in medium industry category and Divine IT Limited, Prince Chemical Company Limited of Pabna and M/S Rony Agro Engineering in small industry category.
Besides, Bandhan Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (BSUS), Tara Marka of Dhaka and Women Fashion World of Sylhet got awards in micro industry category while MEXIM International Trading Company of Dhaka, Angana Beauty Parlor and Skin Care of Gazipur and Pratibeshi Training Centre and Cottage Industry Development of Dhaka in cottage industry category and Jamuna Fertilizer Company Limited, Pragati Industries Limited and Ashuganj Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited given the award in state-owned enterprises category.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Amir Hossain Amu said the government is working relentlessly to turn the country into an industrialised middle-income nation by 2021 and developed ones by 2041.
He urged the entrepreneurs to ensure highest productivity in their industry using environment friendly and renewable energy.
Senior secretary of Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, ndc and officials concerned were present on the occasion.
